Ceramics: Historical Coil Pots
Description
In this ceramics class, students will explore traditional pottery by recreating historic vessels using the coil-building method. You’ll learn how ancient potters constructed forms, added surface detail, and achieved balance and proportion—all while building your own functional or decorative pieces inspired by global ceramic traditions. The instructor will guide you through research, sketching, and handbuilding techniques that connect past and present. This class is perfect for students interested in history, craftsmanship, and slow, intentional making.
