One Shot Project: Ceramics: Multi-Stem Bud Vases
Description
In this one-night ceramics class, students will use slab-building techniques to create a sculptural multi-stem bud vase, similar to a contemporary “tulip vase” style. We’ll construct a flat base and build a series of individual tubes, arranging them into a unified form that’s perfect for displaying small blooms or greenery.
Students will learn how to form and join slabs, shape and refine the tubes, and compose a balanced design. At the end of class, you’ll choose a glaze for your piece, which will be fired and ready for pickup later.
This project is approachable for beginners yet offers plenty of room for creative expression—each vase will be uniquely yours!
