One Shot Project: Ceramics: Whistles
Description
In this playful one-shot workshop, students will learn how to handbuild a functional ceramic whistle from start to finish. We’ll explore techniques for forming the body of the whistle, carving the airway, and tuning it to create a clear sound. Students can shape their whistles into simple geometric forms or turn them into animals, characters, or abstract designs.
Once the whistles are constructed, you’ll add surface details and choose a glaze for finishing. After firing, you’ll have a unique, handmade whistle that both looks beautiful and truly works.
A fun, beginner-friendly project with plenty of room for creativity!
