K-2nd Summer Camp: Creative Canvas: Painting and Drawing Studio
Description
Young artists will build foundational painting and drawing skills while exploring imaginative and playful projects that go beyond traditional paper-and-pencil work. Students will experiment with watercolor, acrylic, resist techniques, mixed surfaces, and creative mark-making while developing confidence in artistic expression. This camp’s focus is on both skill-building and creative exploration.
Our young artists will:
-
Combine painting, drawing, and resist media to create unique artwork
-
Learn foundational brush and color techniques
-
Use prompts to spark imaginative drawing
-
Stand, stretch, and sweep color across the walls in big, expressive gestures
-
Use gelli plates as a printmaking method to create colorful, layered artwork
The week concludes with a special exhibition for families on Friday from 12:00–12:30pm at the EAC, where students’ creations will be on display.
