3rd-5th Summer Camp: Clay and Sculptures: Animals, Bugs, and Nature
Description
Students will explore ceramics and mixed media sculptural techniques while creating nature-inspired artworks that reflect animals, insects, and environmental forms. This camp emphasizes structure, texture, and storytelling through 3D design as students build detailed sculptures and mixed media environments inspired by the natural world.
Our artists will:
-
Use clay to sculpt realistic and imaginative animals and insects
-
Experiment with texture and surface decoration techniques, including glaze and paints
-
Build imaginative habitats for the sculpted creatures
-
Use paper mache to build 3D replicas of their favorite animals or bugs
-
Strengthen spatial awareness through 3D construction
The week concludes with a special exhibition for families on Friday from 3:00-3:30pm at the EAC, where students’ creations will be on display.
