5th-8th Grade: Ceramics: Animal Sculpture Lab
Description
In Ceramics: Animal Sculpture Lab, students in grades 5–8 will explore the art of bringing animals to life through clay. Over five weeks, participants will learn essential handbuilding techniques such as pinching, coiling, and slab construction while studying animal forms, proportions, and textures. Students will design and create their own unique animal sculptures, experimenting with surface details like fur, scales, and patterns, and finishing their work with glazes. This class encourages creativity, observation, and problem-solving in a fun, supportive studio environment.
